Vintage print of an illustration produced by Danish artist Bjorn Wiinblad. I estimate the date of creation to be early 1960's, but I have not come across this particular illustration before. I have seen the original of this in a photograph in Bjorn Wiinblads studio in his house, it was quite a large canvas painting. From other similar work that Wiinblad produced I believe that this piece is part of a series of prints which were produced using illustrations that Wiinblad created in conjunction with his theatre work producing backdrops for theatre productions.
Wiinblad produced huge amounts of work for theatres in Denmark and around the world, from backdrops to costumes and of course posters to advertise the event. There is no doubt that Wiinblad had an enormous passion for theatre, plays, music and dance, which he illustrates so well in his work.
The print is produced on a thick card like paper, with a semi-gloss finish, measuring 70cm wide x 55.5 cm tall. The print is in perfect condition, a wonderful find.
